Riviera Beach
Dog Training in Riviera Beach
A waterfront city with a port, a marina and a lagoon, where dogs walk on a leash and stay off the beach.
A waterfront city, on a leash
Riviera Beach is a city of about 37,600 people (2020 census), home to the Port of Palm Beach and a U.S. Coast Guard station. The Lake Worth Lagoon separates the mainland part of the city from Singer Island, where its ocean beaches are.
The city code is short and strict. A dog on any public street, parkway, walkway or park must be on a leash held by a person, and must wear a county license tag on its collar. No animal may run at large in the city, and no animal may be taken onto the public beaches.
Leash walking around water and crowds
Waterfront walking is busy walking: boat ramps, fishing lines, people carrying food, other dogs on short leashes. The skills that make it easy are a loose leash, a heel you can call on a crowded path, and a dog that ignores what is on the ground. Those are the core of our obedience program.
Where to walk
Phil Foster Memorial Park at 900 E. Blue Heron Boulevard, a county park on the lagoon, allows domesticated animals in designated areas when they stay within six feet of the handler. Its guarded swimming beach follows the county rule that keeps dogs off county beaches. The designated dog beach in the county is in Jupiter, and the nearest county-run dog park is Pooch Pines in Okeeheelee Park.
Programs
Most Riviera Beach owners start with private obedience at $650 for four lessons. In-home lessons start at $850. If your dog reacts to other dogs on the leash, the dog-to-dog aggression program is eight lessons at $1,100.
Results vary by dog. Major behavioral issues such as dog or human aggression cannot be guaranteed to be eliminated — our programs give you control and a clear plan to manage them.
Nearby
We also serve Singer Island across the lagoon, North Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens.
